Andy Street has backed the launch of our brand new tech and digital programmes!
The Mayor of the West Midlands has lent his support to our Get Ahead in Digital Transformation programmes.
Learners can undertake any of six fully-funded courses, covering Digital Marketing, Digital Transformation, Software Development, Database Management, Building IT Networks or Cyber Security, which include globally recognised certifications from the likes of Google, Microsoft and CompTIA.
Anyone undertaking one of the courses will also receive the support of a Professional Development Coach, tasked with helping them to find a new job or take on more responsibility at work, and an expert Skills and Knowledge Coach who will guide each learner through the course content.
All coaching sessions are delivered virtually, with the emphasis of the course being on flexible remote learning and self-study.
The “Get Ahead in Digital Transformation” scheme is being completely funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority, which means the qualifications don’t cost the learner anything to do.
Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands, said:
“Given the huge numbers of people staying at home due to the Coronavirus, now is a good opportunity for people to consider learning new digital skills.
“At no cost to them, residents across the region can pick-up new skills such as data analysis, cyber security, and digital marketing. Given the digital age we are in, skills like these could be vital for the jobs of the future.
“I want to thank The Development Manager for putting these courses on, and I am pleased the WMCA could help play its part by making the funding available.”
Derrin Kent, Managing Director, The Development Manager, said:
“Do well by doing good!
The West Midlands economy needs a “Digital Reboot” now more than ever. Employers, employees and job/apprenticeship applicants are ALL responsible for making this happen. Business success, career security and social mobility can be gained by assuming responsibilities (Doing Good) as we gain knowledge certifications (Doing Well).
The Development Manager (TDM) Coaching team will also make sure learners begin to apply that knowledge. We deliver genuinely work-based learning underpinned by academic rigour.”
