Software Developer Apprentice

An exciting new role has arisen as a Software Developer Apprentice at a website, app and software developers based in Hereford. This is a great opportunity to develop your existing skills in a commercial environment and take on responsibility for client work.

You must have some experience or understanding of programming in the following languages:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Javascript
  • PHP

Job Description

  • Tasks will initially include becoming an expert in the front end our software product, supporting the Development Team in testing and releasing new functionality and supporting our customers in the use of our software.
  • Develop skills in software development using Angular 5 web applications and Node JS server side application development
  • For the right candidate, training (internal and external) will be provided to develop their skill set in line with natural ability and aptitude.

The candidate will ideally have examples of their coding to share with us at their 1st interview.

Future prospects

  • A structured training program will be provided through the apprenticeship with the goal to develop the skills and experience to be employed full time as a developer once the apprenticeship is completed.

Working week

  • Monday-Friday: 09.00-17.00
  • Total hours per week: 37.50
  • Weekly wage: £146.25

Training to be provided

The successful candidate will undertake a two year nationally recognised qualification through TDM.

This is a work-based learning programme which will require commitment to block weeks in a training room once every quarter working towards the qualification along with weekly off the job training and monthly coaching sessions. You will be required to demonstrate through the standard that you meet all competencies and behaviours which will lead to the acheivement of the qualification. These block weeks will take place at either of our training centres, in Birmingham or Worcester, whichever is more suitable for your location.

You will have a designated mentor in the workplace to support your learning and at the end of programme will be assessed via an external assessment body.

This is a Level 4 qualification.

  • KM1 Software Developer Methodologies
  • KM2 Software Languages
  • MTA HTML5
