Our Apprentice of the Month Award is an opportunity for the spotlight to shine on one of our current apprentices who has worked hard, accomplished, applied themselves or has achieved something fantastic whilst on programme. This is an opportunity to celebrate apprenticeships and their value, not only for the learner but also for the employer and the business they work within.

In order to be awarded Apprentice of the Month, learners can be nominated by their TDM coach, other TDM members of staff who have come into contact with the apprentice and also from their mentor, employer or colleagues they work along side.

Apprentice of the Month – November

Our Apprentice of the Month Award for November goes to Tom Tustin from Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

Tom’s nomination came through his mentor, Joe, who approached us and wanted to put Tom forward for all of his hard work:

“Over the last couple of months Tom has consistently gone over and above what would be expected of an apprentice in what has been a very busy and challenging period for the business. Tom has always done what’s asked of him – outside of his remit too – and has really “mucked in” to help everyone whilst always being very professional with customers at all times.”

“After being placed on furlough on his second day in the role, Tom returned to work mid-May to assist with the launch of a new online retail offering and a Membership retention programme.”

“With the cricket season curtailed due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Tom’s role has looked very different from what was expected. Yet, Tom has been very willing to help in other areas and has excelled in customer service and sales tasks where his engaging and persuasive nature have helped portray the business in the best light whilst also saving the club money.”

“Tom has very quickly got to grips with, and become a very competent user of, the Adobe Creative Suite and his use of the businesses various Social Media channels is key to driving revenue on through our online retail offering. He’s become a valuable member of the team.”

A big thank you to Joe for this nomination and a huge well done and congratulations to Tom!
