It is clear to us all now that we are entering an Information Age with a Knowledge-Based Economy. In this global context IT literacy is increasingly important to an individual's ability to prosper. All of these courses are designed to be delivered as a full one-day programme (4 x 1.5 hours) which is followed up by a consolidatory programme of online learning. Each of them, however, can also be condensed into a shorter delivery period OR combined with other courses from this and The Development Manager's other course categories (click the links in the right hand column) in order to extend into longer programmes of delivery.

Web User Skills
We all use the web on a daily basis... but some of us make more efficient use of it than others. With very, very brief reference to free anti-virus and firewall options for thos who still insist on paying for Windows, this session will explore some of the more useful Web 2.0 sites available today and also focus on advanced web-user techniques: including tailoring your browser and your search engine and more efficient bookmarking.
An introduction to standards compliant Web Design with XHTML and CSS
Pitched at a beginner level, this session is aimed at those who want to learn how to hard-code their websites: this being the only way to relly assert control over how your website works for you.
An introduction to using MySQL and PHP to create interactive websites
This session assumes basic understanding of XHTML and CSS. MySQL and PHP can help you to make your website more interactive for the end-user.
Advanced CSS
Assuming basic competence in XHTML and CSS, this session will lead you to a higher level of CSS mastery.
Moodle Administration
Moodle is one of the best Virtual Learning environment available on the market today... and it is free to download. This programme offers an introduction to the skills and knowledge required to be a Moodle administrator.
Facilitating online learning with Moodle
It takes much more than IT knowledge to become an online learning facilitator. It takes much more than teaching skills to know how to use the Moodle VLE to its maximum potential. This programme will serve as an introduction to some of the skills required for effective online learning facilitation.
Modifying and theming Moodle
Aimed at those already competent in XHTML and CSS coding, this session will equip web-designers to design a template for your Moodle site featuring your own corporate branding and logos.
Joomla! Administration
Using a content Management System (CMS) is probably the easiest way for your organisation to takeday-to-day control over the content of your own website. Joomla! is probably the most sophisticated CMS available and is easy-to-use for those with little IT competence. This programme will serve as an introduction to Joomla! admnistration skills.

SugarOS is the Open Source version of the SugarCRM Customer Relationship Management System. This training session will practically overview how to use SugarOS as an administrator. and end-user.
